Jean Claire A. Dy taught Creative Writing and Media Arts courses at the University of the Philippines Mindanao in Davao City, where she also sat as Chair of the University Gender Committee and the University Committee for Culture and the Arts. Her University involvements also included a membership in the Interactive Learning Center Advisory Council.
Claire writes and maintains the travel page for MindaNews and used to head MindaNews TV, the convergence media component of MindaNews. She also serves as the Board Secretary of the Mindanao News and Information Cooperative Center.
She was the Editor-in-Chief of m. Life and Living in Mindanao, the first ever glossy ifestyle magazine about Mindanao with a nationwide distribution.
She is also a visual artist, creative writer, performance artist, dancer, media/video artist.
Educational Background
Claire was recently awarded a fellowship from the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program.
She is currently taking her graduate studies in the MA in Media Studies program (with focus on Documentary Filmmaking and Interactive Media) at the New School University in New York City.

I met up with Pearl and we talked about the possibility of exploring visual media for rights awareness (setting up regular outdoor visual media screenings, watching films that matters,etc...) I'm sure you know so much about this and sana you can share with us your thoughts on this.

Hi there. None that I know of. Sir nonoy a good friend of Nick Deocampo went here last 2005. So far yun lang... I'll keep you posted. Hope you can join our project for a film exhibition here in Zamboanga around Nov. or Dec. I'm also checking on the possiblity of screening Mindanaon short films in robinsons galleria this Dec.
