A Tausug group is all set to solicit at least a million signatures to convince Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Founding Chairman Nur Misuari to join the Senate race in 2010, although one of Misuaris close advisers has opined that the Moro leader might not be inclined at this moment to accept any offer from whatever political party that may draft him to join the race.(Manila Times, JUne 8, 2009)
Endorsing Nur Misuari for senatorial candidacy is not a new thing. In fact Marcos administration offered him a senatorial position but he refused.
Sometimes in Aquino regime, he publicly announced that fishing is better than the governorship in Autonomous Region for Muslim in Mindanao (ARMM).
When people endorsed him, he took the challenge till the government traps succeed. So if another endorsement will follow what will be the next sequence and other consequences?
Young Muslim Professional Atty. Pherham Saiddi suggested that No to Misuari candidacy. According to him, “Misuari should be careful. He must step foot so that he be able to focus in the ongoing tripartite proposal.”
Nur Misuari is still the light of Moro National Liberation Front. If this is true then it’s healthier if he would remain as Chairman of the central committee. The respect, solidarity and strength will remain intact.
He can send other trusted man to be his representative in any government's affairs. One hundred percent of the new generation would agree if ever he will give chance to new blood for new future and new arts.
His focus to the front is better if he would like to serve his fellowmen in a better pose. Serving as Chairman of the front is better than any other positions in the government.
Misuari still a great leader of Bangsamoro homeland. MNLF chairmanship is better for him. No other better position that suits him for now rather than it.
As revolutionary leader for evolutionary struggle, this is the only thing that we can recommend for him sincerely, simply because we love him as he is, not as senator!
